PSL will provide a great experience to our upcoming young players, says Afridi



KARACHI: Pakistan’s T20 skipper Shahid Khan Afridi supported Pakistan Super League (PSL) and said that it will be a great experience for our country’s young and emerging players.

While talking to the media, Pakistan’s most dynamic all-rounder Afridi said that PSL will provide a great opportunity to our upcoming players and they will get an unbelievable experience when they will play alongside some big names in the game of cricket.

Recently PSL logo launching ceremony took place in Expo Centre Johar Town, Lahore. It was a glamours event organized by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), in which their were top current and former cricketers with PCB officials and some celebrities from the world of showbiz.

In this upcoming T20 cricket tournament which is scheduled in February 2016 five teams will participate in its first edition Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Quetta and Peshawar. Every squad will include four foreign players and 12 local players.

At the logo launching ceremony, PSL’s brand ambassador Ramiz Raja and PSL chairman Najam Sethi revealed a new signing via video message. England’s Kevin Pietersen is their latest signing which will now join the list of foreign players which includes Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard, Dwayne Bravo, Sunil Narine, Samuel Badree, Angelo Mathews, Lasith Malinga, Thisara Perera, Tilikaratne Dilshan, Luke Wright, Tim Bresnan, Grant Elliot, Andre Russel and Brad Hodge.

On the other hand, the logo was launched through a 3D video which showed some glimpses of the historic famous Test victory at Oval in 1954 and was inspired by Pakistan’s rich fast-bowling talent. Mainly the logo of all other domestic leagues around the world consist an image of a batsman, but the logo of the PSL is an mere image of Pakistan’s legendary pacer the King of Swing Wasim Akram who is also a brand ambassador of PSL.
