Quetta blast an attempt to sabotage Zarb-i-Azb COAS

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, while addressing the Corps Commanders Conference at the General Headquarters, has strongly condemned the terror attack in Quetta.

He said that the cowardly attack on the judiciary carried out in a hospital was an attempt to undermine the success of operation Zarb-e-Azb. He strongly stated the valiant armed forces would not allow anyone to reverse gains against terrorism. They expressed their deepest sympathies with the aggrieved families and injured of the Quetta blast.

General Raheel Sharif presided over the meeting which was attended by all Corps Commanders and Principal Staff Officers, where he was given a detailed briefing on the ongoing military operations and the security situation in the country with particular reference to counter terrorism domain.

He directed the Commanders and intelligence agencies that they should further intensify the combing and targeted operations with full vigour to eliminate terrorists and sleeper cells.

He also directed commanders to provide all necessary assistance to provincial law-enforcement agencies in their capacity building through training, resourcing and planning to integrate them effectively in counter terrorism operations.

Combing operation to be launched in Balochistan: Zehri

Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri Tuesday vowed that terrorists will definitely be tracked down wherever they may be holed up in the country.

Zehri said, “Terrorists imposed this war on us. But, we will take this war kick-started by them to its logical end.”

The chief minister was of the view that the enemies of the state are not entitled to live in this state.

Zehri also highlighted that terrorists can never demoralize us, adding a full-fledged combing operation would be launched in Quetta and across the province.
