Resignations of MQM lawmakers should not be accepted: PM Nawaz52 views
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has presided over a meeting of PMLN leaders over the resignations tendered by MQM lawmakers in which it has been decided that the matter would be kept in delay.
According to the details, Interior Minister Ch. Nisar, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Planning & Development Ahsan Iqbal and some legal experts were also in the meeting that was called on emergency basis to ponder over the situation after MQM members resigned from Senate , Sindh and National Assembly.
It has been decided in the meeting that government will keep negotiating with MQM to agree them upon reverting this decision and speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq has been directed to treat this issue like what he did with PTI members when they resigned.
PM Nawaz Sharif said on this occasion that MQM’s resignations should not be accepted and they should play their role for the betterment of country and democracy.
However, the ongoing targeted operation by Rangers in Karachi would continue.
MQM legislators have resigned from NA (24) , Senate (8) and Sindh Assembly (51) yesterday.
