Romi Awan: Let’s promise to fulfill the dream of Planet 50-50/2030

Romi Awan, the Director of Women Rights and the president of RTLF, expressed his views on International Women’s Day, which was observed on 8 March. He was of the view that contemporary world needs to support women. In this modern era it is compulsory that we give them equal opportunities in the working field so that they contribute in the world’s development.

Awan continued his debate by adding the telephonic discussion with Miss Christine Evans Klock, who is UNO Residential Coordinator in Ghana, as UNO has appreciated the women all over the world. He further explained the message of UNO, which accolades and supports our women to make this beautiful planet more progressive and the dream of Planet 50-50/2030 comes true.

Awan further elaborated that by giving women equality to the men, we can overcome the poverty from the world. We should stand against the premature marriages and give the right to the women to make decisions regarding their marriages, he noted. We should work for the women education, especially young girls, and women empowerment, he added. Awan emphasized that this is the right time to facilitate women in the field of education and their grooming.

Awan quoted the words of former UN Secretary General, Kofi Anan, that there is no any other way, except stabilizing our women, to get a better world.
