Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy was sizzling in black

Pakistani daughter Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy has once again bagged the Oscar by smashed the critics. She was looking amazing on the ceremony in the dress which was reflecting Pakistan’s vivacious fashion industry. Contrasted to her ex-triumph fawn Bunto Kazmi Oscar dress, this Sana Safinaz-designed black, modest number was a bit inconspicuous, possibly suggesting at a more certain and experienced Oscar nominee. This is perhaps why the film-maker selected a murky outfit than the one she donned for the 2012 Vanity Fair Oscar party.

Every designer wants to design an outfit for a celebrity who is going to the Academy Awards and this year Obaid-Chinoy chose the label Sana Safinaz to make an outfit for her flash of grandeur. The head of the brand, Safinaz Muneer, was explaining in an interview that “To design a couture outfit, it takes a lot of brainstorming. We relied on two things, namely what the client wanted and our vision. That’s how we managed to put together this piece.”

Obaid-Chinoy’s black-on-black dress contained a profoundly embroidered heel-length velvet coat above a silk outfit. Muneer shared that “The coat was hand-embellished in off-white silk thread and was further enriched with pearls and shells. This gave the outfit a grand and dramatic appeal at the Oscars,” The designer felt pride in the ‘Made-in-Pakistan’ tag and stated that “We are very proud of her and the cherry on top of the cake is that she wore one of our designs.”

Whereas the Oscar-winner’s dress was fairly outstanding, her statement jewellery pieces were emphasizing, “Today, I am very excited and contented for the triumph, but I’m more honored that she [Obaid-Chinoy] select to wear my jewellery designs second time round,” told Kiran Aman of Kiran Fine Jewellery. “She wore a palm piece, named ‘Just Woman’, signifying love and courage and set of earrings named ‘Synchronicity’ which signified a continuum wave of tear drops and spheres, once again signifying love and courage.”
