Teachers should be given honor like celebrities

Pakistani well known Singer-actor Ali Zafar shared that his parents, both of whom are career educationists, assisted him in attaining greater heights in his career.

Telling regarding his collaboration with the Varkey Foundation Global Teacher Prize Academy, which evaluates 10 shortlisted teachers in line for the $1 million award, the Rockstar singer told he was trained by a few grand teachers, involving his parents. He stated in a press release that “Their inspiration helped me achieve what I have. We must always remember that there is always a great teacher, behind the scenes, guiding us forward,” he continued by saying that “I am delighted and honored to join the academy. I was in Dubai in March this year for the prize ceremony and was humbled to meet the amazing teachers shortlisted for it.”

Whereas Zafar advocate of women’s education and empowerment, he thinks that teachers must be celebrated in order celebrities are. He told that “Teachers should be celebrated like music and film stars. That is why I support the Global Teacher Prize,” he further added, “Raising respect and celebrating teachers across the world can fulfill a crucial role in attracting and retaining the most talented candidates into the profession.”

The Varkey Foundation Global Teacher Prize, at the present in its third year, is a reward that was set up to be acquainted with one outstanding teacher who has made a wonderful donation to the profession.

In the meantime, Zafar is preparing himself for the release of his movie Walk and Talk in which the star cast includes Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt. The film is directed by Gauri Shinde and the movie is going to hit screens later on this year.
