Tooba comes back in a drama portraying Down syndrome373 views
The eminent Pakistani model Tooba Siddiqui is going to make her comeback on television with an imminent drama titled Ilteja, which shines the light on the efforts of raising children with Down syndrome.
The 32-year-old model come actress stated in the interview that “My character’s a woman who has a child suffering from Down’s syndrome. Different events in her life have strained her relationship with her family and friends,”
The story of the drama is all about her struggle to raise a kid on her own devoid of the help of her family or broader society.
Siddiqui who started her career by starring in a Music Video “My Love” for pop singer Yasir Akhtar, further added “The underlying aim is to create awareness about Down syndrome and how families suffer silently without proper support,”
It was this powerful message in the drama that persuaded Tooba to come back to TV.
Siddiqui, who has starred in several Pakistani Television serials, short plays and telefilms, further shared that “I was offered a lot of scripts but refused some because I didn’t agree with the story or didn’t have time to do the serial. I’m raising two beautiful kids of my own, so I like to do exclusive work — one good script in six months or so,”
She further explained “Then when producer Sana Shahnawaz called me for this exclusive script, I had to say yes. Because I feel when you are well-known or you have the power to display the world something via TV or media, there comes a responsibility too and for my comeback, I had to somehow give an awareness message.”
She started modeling for the Pakistani fashion industry towards in 2000. She has appeared in campaigns for Deevees and Diva.
Ilteja will air on ARY Digital and is probable to start in December.
