Ukraine doctor’s passion for selfies with naked women patients receives backlash4,383 views
A Ukrainian plastic surgeon has sparked fury by posing for ‘selfies’ with patients lying unconscious on the operating table in theatre.
Edgar Kaminskyi, 31, shares extraordinary clips over social media of his boob job operations while in theatre and asks ‘fans’ to ‘like’ if they are impressed with his handiwork.
In one particularly crass video, the surgeon, married to a former Playboy model, exposes his patient’s breasts and boasts: ‘Soon you will see them on Kiev’s beaches – and not only there.’
Remarkably, Dr Kaminskyi, who moans that ’70 per cent’ of his patients need a psychologist not a plastic surgeon, says the women have agreed to being filmed – and it actually boosts his business.
‘All my broadcastings in Periscope are organised after the agreement with my patients,’ he said.
‘They sign an appropriate document. I do not take social networks as a mean of communication, only as an advertising engine.’
It certainly gives people a clear idea of what they are signing up for. Would-be patients at his Kiev clinic Harmony can see exactly what happens when they go under the knife, thanks to his graphic pictures and video.
‘In an hour you will watch the new LX 410 driving into its garage,’ he tells the camera at one point, referring to his upcoming operation to insert the implant.
In another clip with his face visible, Dr Kaminskyi – whose motto is ‘love is free, medicine is not!’ – urges viewers to ‘like’ the exposed and recently enlarged breasts of another woman after surgery.
‘Like if you like,’ he wrote.
Another short clip was filmed by a female patient’s husband. The woman, named only as Inessa, decided on surgery after having breast fed her child for two and a half years.
Shocked surgeons at the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (BAAPS) have blasted his marketing strategy.
Mary O’Brien, consultant plastic surgeon and BAAPS council member, said: ‘Pre- and post-op pictures, when they are used professionally and respectfully, can be very helpful for patients.
‘But inappropriate use of photos and social media is exploitative of vulnerable patients.
‘And it is my view, that during an operation, a surgeon should be focusing wholly on that operation, and not on marketing for his own personal gain.’
But his fans did not seem too bothered by his forays into the world of social media – until he was spotted not wearing gloves in one clip filmed just after surgery.
‘You are without gloves! There is a patient on the operation table!!! You do not follow aseptic rules!!! It is forbidden to enter operating theatre without gloves,’ wrote one critic.
‘Pooh, pooh, if a doctor touches me without gloves… So disgusting.’
But with a waiting list of a year, Dr Kaminskyi has no shortage of women willing to shell out the £4,260 he charges for a breast augmentation.
‘I called his clinic and got an appointment only for June 21, 2017! Just for a consultation! Can you imagine the number of his patients?’ said a potential patient.
Another gushed: ‘Fantastic when a person finds his place in this life. You are a God gifted surgeon.’
However, the father-of-two is not as kind about the women who come through his door, telling a Ukrainian magazine that ’70 per cent of my clients need a psychologist, not a surgeon’.
‘During the day I meet 25 new girls and seven of them get undressed in front of me,’ he said.
‘I have to listen to them, to understand, to forgive – not a single psychologist has so much work.
‘I am often tired. And I dream of getting back home and playing with my son Leon.’
One exception to the rule is his wife, former singer and twice Playboy star, Olga Kuznetsova.
The 33-year-old, who found fame under the stage name Slava in a duo called NotAngels, met him after accompanying a friend to his clinic.
She has twice posed in raunchy shoots for Playboy, most recently in 2013, before her marriage to Dr Kaminskyi.
The couple, who now have two children aged 18 months and six months, are not above doing racy shoots of their own: Dr Kaminskyi has shared a series of photos of himself and his topless wife.
Dr Kaminskyi revealed his work has not dulled his enthusiasm for breasts.
‘Have I lost interest in women’s breasts? It is a frequent question,’ he said to his 103,000 Instagram followers, returning to a car analogy.
‘Answering it, let me make a parallel with car repairing. What do you think, will a person who works in a car repair garage loose interest in his car?
‘I’m sure he will not.
‘Even though he sees car parts every day, he still loves his own car, takes care of it and enjoys the moment he goes by the wheel.
‘Women’s breasts for me – these are the breasts of my wife.
‘With my patients it is it only a human chest and female breasts that I am making aesthetically more attractive, based on my own understanding of beauty and on the patient’s requests.’
He boasts on using the latest American and German materials.
He also does all inclusive nose reshaping operations for £3,425, and ear correction surgery for £428.
Botox injections cost between £128 and £342.
