WhatsApp to introduce a ‘missing feature’ soon: Reports

NEW DELHI: The ‘world’s most popular’ messaging app WhatsApp will soon be getting autoplay GIF support.

This was revealed in a report published by The Next Web citing @WABetaInfo’s recent tweet, a Twitter account that keeps track of the latest WhatsApp beta updates.

WhatsApp has not yet announced GIF support but as per reports, the GIF support will soon roll out to its Android app as well. Along with this, the company is also working on rolling out video calling feature in order to take on the likes of Skype .

Recently, WhatsApp’s competitors like Facebook Messenger and Viber also rolled out GIF support.

Last month, WhatApp announced that its apps are now available on PCs running Windows 8 and above and for Mac OS 10.9 and above. Similar to ‘WhatsApp Web,’ the desktop app is synced with WhatsApp on your mobile device.
