Aamir Khan is one of the superstars in Bollywood who has given numerous hits and blockbusters since the 80s when he debuted as a leading actor in the tragic romance Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988). But we have noticed many times that Aamir is one celebrity who most of the time avoid award ceremonies since long.
But it has been revealed that the motive behind this is none other than the Badshah of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan. According to the reports a well-known award ceremony dating back to 1996 didn’t descend too well with Aamir when Shah Rukh got the best actor award for his movie Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge there.
Aamir khan was also nominated in the similar category for his illustrious performance in Ram Gopal Verma’s iconic movie Rangeela.
Aamir elucidated his stance regarding it by saying that “Fact is that I have no objections to film awards per se. I just feel that if I don’t value a particular film award, then I won’t attend it either.”
The 51-year-old actor further revealed that he considered that the entire award functions were biased with the exemption of National Film Awards. Khan, who started a production company, whose first release, Lagaan, was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and earned him a National Film Award for Best Popular Film and two more Filmfare Awards (Best Actor and Best Film) added that “Apart from the national award, I don’t see any other award ceremony that I should give value to. My personal experience about these award ceremonies is that I don’t trust them.”
It was following the above-mentioned occurrence that he decided to stay away from award ceremonies. Aamir told “I have no faith in them so I would prefer to stay away,”
