Yasir will be a genuine threat for England in UAE, says Mahmood92 views
Pakistan’s former all-rounder Azhar Mahmood gave a warning to Alastair Cook’s men that Pakistan’s spin attack will pose a genuine threat to England in the upcoming series at United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The English team will play three Tests, four ODIs and three T20 matches against the Greenshirts at UAE from October to November.
Mahmood said that currently Cook’s men are in form as they have comprehensively beaten Australia to regain the historic Ashes Test series, but the conditions of UAE are in the favor of leg-spinner Yasir Shah.
He further said that as we all know English batsman are not good players of spin bowling, especially leg-spin. According to him Yasir will play a pivotal role in the series against England, as he will cause a lot of problems to English batsman.
Mahmood added that it’s the job of other bowlers to support Yasir at that time and the choice of playing with a second spinner is also very vital. Yasir will be the key to Pakistan’s victory, he has been exceptional since his debut in international cricket. Yasir has proven that he can handle the pressure and now he might have loads of confidence as he will lead Pakistan’s spin-attack.
The 29 year-old Yasir Shah has already bagged 61 wickets from 10 Test matches, he has credited Pakistan’s former spin-legend Mushtaq Ahmed for his match winning performances. Yasir said that Mushtaq worked on my action and in my opinion he is the reason I performed well in Sri-Lanka.
