You will be surprised to see the difference between TRPs of The Kapil Sharma Show and Comedy Nights Live

The Kapil Sharma Show didn’t exactly start with a bang as the viewers would have expected it to; the first two episodes garnered the rating of 3 and 2.9 respectively–only marginally higher than the first episode of Comedy Nights Live. Considering the hype around one of India’s best comedians Kapil Sharma‘s comeback show, these ratings surprised viewers. But the real surprise was waiting to be unravelled this week. The latest ratings for Hindi GECs and shows (April 30-May 6) have come and we aren’t surprised anymore; we are shocked!

According to the latest data of BARC India, The Kapil Sharma Show has garnered the rating of 1.9. Yes, you read that right. Want to know how Krushna Abhishek’s show Comedy Nights Live (CNL) is faring? Well, there isn’t much of a difference between the ratings of Kapil and Krushna’s shows. CNL has garnered the rating of 1.7, which is the difference of just 0.2.

In fact the real winner is India’s Got Talent (IGT) that premiered on April 30 and opened with 2.3. Though we will have to wait for the coming weeks to see whether IGT is able to retain its viewers or not, since opening episodes generally fare better than the subsequent episodes.

In the fiction space, Naagin is ruling like never before. Compared to last week’s 4.8, it has emerged even stronger with 5. However, the surge might be due to the drama around Ritik and Shivanya’s killing (and their resurrection). Saath Nibhaana Saathiya and Yeh Hai Mohabbatein have tied at 3.1. Gopi Bahu and Ishita, rejoice!

TKSS definitely needs to up its game if it wants to stay in the race in the long run.
