Younis Khan wants to join 10,000 runs club



ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Test batsman Younis Khan said that he wants to be the first Pakistani to score 10,000 Test runs and desires to be a role model for his country.

Younis Khan is the most experienced batsman in Pakistan’s Test team, he plays a very vital role for the Greenshirts in the Test format of the game. He is the only Pakistani Test batsman to score a century against every Test playing nation of the world and overall the 12th Test batsman to achieve this milestone.

While talking to the media, Mr. Experience Younis Khan said that his vision is to do something for Pakistan that is why i want to become the first Pakistani to score 10,000 runs as you may know that many of us have scored 8,000 runs but I want to do more than that.


The 37 year-old Younis further said that what he is today is because of his family, all the credits goes to my parents the way they brought me up and provided me whatever I needed and demanded. Currently Younis has scored 8814 Test runs with 30 centuries and 29 fifties with an healthy average of 52.62.

He added that he wanted to do something big for Pakistan after retirement, I want to become a role model for my nation as we don’t have enough role models in Pakistan. Talking about Pakistan’s former coach Bob Woolmer, Younis said that Woolmer was like a father to me. He was my coach during 2003 to 2007, his death was tragic to me and also for Pakistan cricket.
